Up and down is self leveling and is required by US law. Side to side movement is adaptive lights and is an option. I cannot see under any circumstances replacing xenon with halogen. As Al Kazaz said, purchase a salvage part. I suspect you will have to get it programmed in any case (replacement xenon or replace both headlights with halogen.

The difference between them is that the adaptive lights will have additional motors, sensors, etc to allow for that movement, whereas the non-adaptive lights don't. on a non AFS car pins 1-4 control headlight range. on a AFS car its only pins 1-2 and pin 3 is blank and pin 4 is power and 14 is ground. The AFS cars have another module built into them(3 total, Xenon control, LED control, and AFS control) This is the theory at this point so Ill let everyone know how it goes.
